Brisbane is the nearest Australian capital city to the Northern Rivers. Travelling south on the Pacific Highway it will take approximately 2 hours to drive. Driving from Sydney (the next closest capital city), and travelling north on the Pacific Highway, it will take approximately 8 hours to arrive in the Northern Rivers. Unfortunately there are limited bus and rail services to the Northern Rivers but the following websites might offer some assistance.
Depending on where you depart from you may be required to stop-over in Sydney and catch a regional flight to the Northern Rivers. QANTAS, Jetstar, Virgin Blue and Regional Express (REX)are all airlines that fly into the Northern Rivers daily. Airports are located at the Gold Coast, Ballina, Lismore & Grafton.
